This is a Washington Apple Pi event. George Mason University Mason Apple User Group, as well as Mason students, are invited to attend.
The General Meeting has three parts:
- Morning session 9:30 am - Noon
- Question and Answer Period
- Club news and coffee break
- Bo Huttinger's 25 Years of Macintosh hardware and how it enabled advances in image software
- Washington Apple Pi Photo Contest 2009's Awards Ceremony
- Lunch from Pappa John's
- Afternoon session 1:00 p.m. - 2:30 p.m.
- Apple Corporation's Aaron Davis describes what's coming to the Macintosh with Snow Leopard and to upgrades to the iPhone and iPod Touch operating system. Note: Not everything will be disclosed as some surprises will be preserved for the Developers' Conference. However, there's no place you can go for a better summary of the many details which have been disclosed to date!
FEATURED MORNING PRESENTER - Bo Huttinger
Bo Huttinger tells the history of the Macintosh computers with an emphasis on how it has evolved its office and graphics capability.
The starting point 25 years ago had a graphical user interface (GUI) word processor software allowed the user to know "what-you-see-is-what-you-get". Another early software program was MacDraw. Watch and listen to Bo's explanation how the Macintosh's hardware evolved over the years leading to the quite sophisticated word processors and digital image library and editing software we use today.
Bo will bring a few Macintoshes from is personal collection for Pi, Mason guests, and meetup members to remininsce and to marvel about.
PI PHOTO CONTEST AWARDS CEREMONY - Travis Good, emcee
The March General Meeting kicked of the Pi Photo Contest 2009. Entry period was from March 28 to May 2nd. Our outside judges will have done their magic, choosing the three best images in these five subject/categories: People in Groups, Nature, Buildings & Structures, Travel and Tourism, and Identified Flying Objects for both peer groups -- Novice Photographer and Advanced Photographer. Travis will present the best pictures from 2007 contest to their photographers as well as introduce attendees to this year's best images. Travis concludes his part of the program by introducing the contest's Best of Show Photo, and presenting its photographer with the Pi's Brownie Award.

LUNCH - Pappa John's pizza will be brought in for lunch for those staying for afternoon session. A donation is requested to cover costs of this meal.
AFTERNOON SESSION - Featured Speaker Aaron Davis, Apple Corporation
Aaron gives up a good sneak peak at Snow Leopard and upcoming improvements to iPod Touch, iPhone and other Apple products. There will be question and answer time after his talk.
